A very small piece in today's Evening Standard reminded me of a storytelling trick available to TV and film writers. We can employ images which lead the viewer to make assumptions... then turn everything on its head.
"In a report on 19 June it was reported that a woman was pictured writing graffiti at a bus stop. She was in fact removing it. We are happy to clarify this and apologise for any embarrassment."
