I Have No Idea Where I Am Going

Oh, don't worry: I don't mean that I have no idea where I'm going in life. Give or take the odd act of God, I'm going to become a full-time screenwriter, drink a fair deal of beer and have loads of fun. So no, I just mean that I have no idea where I am physically going today. For today is my birthday. Oh yes. And at around midday today, my girlfriend is taking me on a magical mystery tour. I have no idea where we're going, or what we'll be doing when we get there.

It strikes me that today I shall live a life even more spontaneous than that of an international pop star, whose tour schedule is all mapped out. Tremendous. Equally tremendous, furthermore, is the birthday card which my genius friend Ray Zell - he who created and draws Pandora for Kerrang! magazine - has given me. Look at the quality of this, why don'tcha?

  12. Thanks, lovely people! I had a tremendous time - was taken to Oxford by train, where we stayed in the swish Malmaison hotel and had a fantastic three-course meal. Balloons, champagne and a caterpillar cake also featured. Yes, my girlfriend clearly rocks.

  13. Was it made with real caterpillars?

  15. Sweet lord - and now the card has been transformed into a blog-banner, courtesy of the exceedingly skillful and generous Oli! I loves it!

  16. And judging from the banner, you really have cut the cake.

See... the cake isn't there any more, so it's been.... Oh, dear.

Belated HBD! One more year nearer to being worm food!
